Hydraulic cylinders are widely used in engineering machinery, machine tool equipment, automobile manufacturing, metallurgy and mining, aerospace and other fields. So, how are hydraulic cylinders produced?
1. Preliminary preparation
1.1 Design
Hydraulic components and sealing components have different requirements in terms of dimensional tolerance, surface roughness, shape and position tolerance, etc. Therefore, the geometric accuracy of each component must be ensured and the correct seal must be selected during design.
1.2 Steel material selection: Commonly used steels are #20 steel, #45 steel, and 40Cr. The hardness of the steel is different, the applicable working conditions are different, and the price is also different, so comprehensive consideration is required.
2.The Production Processing
2.1 Cylinder body
Generally, seamless steel pipes without bending or deformation are selected. In order to ensure its good toughness and plasticity, it needs to go through a series of processing.
Cut the steel pipe into required length.
Threads are machined on the inner walls of both ends of the steel pipe.
Drill oil holes at appropriate locations and weld oil pipes.
During the production of hydraulic cylinders, many processes such as cylinder barrels and piston rods require welding. High-precision welding machines can ensure welding quality.
Scraping and polishing: Scraping and polishing machines ensure the accuracy and quality of tube hole processing and obtain excellent surface finish.
2.2 Piston rod
Select a solid steel column of specified specifications and use a CNC machine tool to process it into the required piston rod. CNC machine tools can ensure the accuracy of piston rod processing.
Grinding and electroplating of piston rod.
One end of the piston rod needs to be threaded and have cylinders of different diameters.
2.3 Piston base
Use a solid steel rod, drill a hole in the center of one end of the piston according to the size of the piston rod, and machine grooves on the inner wall of the hole and the outer ring of the piston.
Install sealing rings on the inner and outer grooves, put the piston on one end of the piston rod, and tighten the nut.
3.Cleaning
Cleanliness plays a very important role in the performance of the hydraulic cylinder. Before assembly, all parts need to be cleaned.
4.Assembly
Assemble cylinder body parts, piston rod parts, and other parts.
5.Testing
5.1 Appearance inspection: Check whether the physical appearance is good.
5.2 Dimension inspection: Use an outside diameter micrometer to check the sealing groove and outside diameter of the piston rod to ensure that the size tolerance is within the drawing requirements; use a vernier caliper and micrometer to check the length and outside diameter of the cylinder.
5.3 Performance test:Starting pressure, pressure resistance, and durability test.
